What is PET?
PET is the type of plastic resin, a form of polyester. The PET container is recognisable as the transparent, rigid container used to package bottled water, carbonated soft drinks (CSD’s), sports drinks, water, household cleaners and food trays. It is a popular package for food and non-food products. PET is tough and resilient and lends itself to recycling.
Why PET?
PET is used because of its strength, thermo-stability and transparency. Customers choose PET because it is inexpensive, lightweight, re-sealable, shatter-resistant and 100% recyclable.Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF)
Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) is a man-made fiber similar in appearance to cotton or wool fiber. It is known as “fiber for fill,” as it is primarily used as polyester fiberfill. It is generally used in non-woven fabrics, upholstery and furniture industry, geo textiles, sportswear, textiles, belts, blankets, caps, car parts, carpets, landfill liners, paint brush bristles, pillows, backpacks, athletic shoes, recycling bins, sails, and stuffing for ski jackets, cushions, mattresses, sleeping bags and quilts in general. Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF) is widely used in textiles, in pillow covers and in bedspreads, replacing conventional cotton fibre. They are becoming popular day-by-day. Demand for PSF has been increasing at a faster rate every year. The main reasons for the rapid increase in demand for PSF are - inherent good qualities of the fibre, easy substitution over pure cotton and the premium fetched by blended yarn in the international markets. PSF is an attractive substitute for cotton and also complement cotton through the production of blended yarn. Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF) has emerged as the fastest-growing fibre amongst all types of manufactured fibres. Polyesters are made by polymerisation of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) and Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG). The polymer thus obtained is melt spun and the bundle of continuous filaments obtained by melt spinning is called tow. The tow is subjected to further processes like drawing, crimping, spin finish application and then cut into fixed lengths to get cut fibres almost equal in length to cotton fibres. These cut fibres are known as PSF.
Characterstics
Staple fiber wins over wool since it is strong, can withstand repetitive movement, and is resistant to stretching, shrinking, or mildew. PSF can easily retain heat, and is resilient when wet or dry. As PSF is hydrophobic, it can be used in wet or damp environments. Moreover, when molded into any shape, PSF does not wrinkle but present insulating properties.
Market
The percapita consumption of PSF is 8 kgs in India, which is 22 kgs in US and Japan. PSF prices ruling in the country by February 2005 were Rs. 80,000 per ton by the domestic manufacturers and USD 1,220 per ton in the international markets. The global demand for PSF is 11.6 million tonnes, which is expected to grow at 6% per annum. In the next 10 years, China is expected to double its polyester staple fibre capacity from 5.2 million tonnes now. During the same period, India is likely to add a million tonnes to its 7,00,000 tonnes, while Indonesia and Vietnam are expected to add 200,000 tonnes each.
China is the main market for PSF with demand growth of 7% per annum. In 2004, its share in the global market for Polyester staple fibre was around 47%. This is expected to rise to 57% by 2014.
PSF Uses:
- Domestic Uses
- Filling, stuffing and padding in
- Cushions
- Pillows
- Quilts
- Toys
- Jackets
- Mattress
- Industrial Uses
- Making of FELTS
- Making non woven and woven carpets
- Mixing with cotton and wool in making yarn of any colour
- Making of sheets of various GSM which are used for padding in quilts, jackets etc.
The pet bottle recycling line is used to recycle the material which the quality is not |
stable. The bottle prewashing process is divided into three steps. First, wash the bottle |
with dirty water; Second, wash the bottle with chemical water which is circulated; Third, |
Flash the bottle with clean water which is collected from the rinsing unit. The process |
can be adjustable to fit dirty and clean bottles to get high quality flakes. |
The process is as below: |
De-bale & Bottle Pre-washing→Buffer →Label Scrapping→Label Separation Flakes |
→Rinsing→Drying→Packing→Manual Sorting and Metal Detecting→Wet Grinding |
→Gravity Separation→Chemical Washing for PET |
Crushing
Provide excellent performance for crushing plastics and is very effective for crushing PET bottles, PE and PP.
- Rotating blades and fixed blades are designed not to cause powder chip with angles for reducing the resis- tance at the time of crushing.
- To endure any impact, the frame and rotor axis are designed to be 2.5 times stronger than the crusher of other company of the same grade.
- External structure can be made to order at the request of users.
- Hydro cyclone and vibration screen are attached for accurate centrifugal gravity separation. In addition,
overflow applies together for perfect cleaning and sepa- ration of foreign substance.
- External structure and size of machines can be made to order at the request of users.
Can Compressor
- Designed to be suitable for compression of PET bottles, Vinyl and wastes. In particular, the bottom of compres- sion chamber is manufactured with special materials and has excellent endurance.
- External structure and size of machine can be made to order at the request of users.
This PET Baler is for compressing waste PET bottles to reduce its size for saving the trans-port expenses or production cost etc..
