Neem oil is the oil pressed from the seeds of the neem tree, known as Margosa, which grows all over the country in areas like U.P., Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh . Neem Oil is the most widely known and used neem product.
As a natural insecticide neem oil is highly valued by organic gardeners around the world, it is used in neem soap, neem shampoo, and as an ingredient in many neem skin care and medicinal products.
A large industry in India extracts the oil remaining in the seed cake using hexane. This solvent-extracted oil is of a lower quality as compared to the cold pressed oil and is mostly used for soap manufacturing.Manufacturing of neem oil includes the collection of raw materials for the extraction and selection of extraction method. Neem oil is extracted from neem leaf and need seed.
Neem oil has many different uses and benefits...
• A natural insect repellent
• A safe pesticide
• A fertilizer
• A skin care ingredient
• A contraceptive
• A medicine with hundreds of different uses...
Neem oil extraction is done by Mechanical pressing, Steam pressure extraction and Solvent extraction. Primary process of extraction consists of grade wise separation of seeds. Grading of seeds is done according to the amount of oil content in the seeds and with sizes as well.
Firstly, the fruits are collected in a drum, and the kernels are separated to obtain the seeds. Later the seeds are woven dried and then feed into the oil extracting machine in case of mechanical pressing method. The neem oil is obtained by pressing it mechanically and collected in a drum. Thus filtration is done to remove the various unwanted particles left in the extracted oil in order to obtain pure neem oil.
