Paper is a highly useful and Versatile Material used for many purposes. Aside from being used as a medium for the communication of printed world, paper is also commonly used be as a packing material. The manufacturing of Corrugated paperboard is one of the largest tonnage items of the paper packing industry. Aside from the fact that it is inexpensive to produce, corrugated paperboard is resistant to water, vapor, gases, oil, grease, mold, insects, rodents, corrosion and impact. Furthermore, because paper is an excellent medium for printed word, such as advertising, corrugated paper board and boxes have become the most popular type of packing and shipping cartons for radios, television sets, rugs, refrigerators, mattresses, furniture’s, and a number of other products including heavy machinery and equipment.
The machinery manufactures of couurgated paperboard in the Republic of China have achieved a level of technical know-how that has enabled them to begin exporting package plants. Currently, corrugated paperboard machinery from Europe, the U.S.A. and Japan are competing head-on with Taiwan in the Southeast Asian market. However, the much-promoted automatic machinery from the West with their high price tags simply may not fit into the budgets of most Southeast Asian clients. General Process Information
Description of manufacturing Process

 A corrugators is a continuous process set of machines, designed to bring together three, five or seven sheets of paper to form single, double or triple wall corrugated board.
 The reels of paper are fed into the corrugators, the paper is conditioned with heat and steam and fed between corrugating rolls, which give the paper its fluted shape in the Single Facer. Starch is applied to the tips of the flutes on one side and the inner liner is glued to the fluting. The corrugated fluting medium with one liner attached to it is called single face and travels along the machine towards Double Backer Facer where the single face meets the outer liner and forms corrugated board. The corrugated board is then cut and stacked.



Process Description
Corrugated paperboard consists of two structure elements. The facing, which is made from Kraft paper linerboard, can be easily purchased around the world. The raw materials needed for the fluting must be converted into corrugated paperboard by the corrugators.
The corrugated board is slit and cut into the desired size.
A flexography-printing machine is used to print the facing with whatever information is desired.
At this point the paperboard is prepared for assembly in one or more of the following ways.
Die-Cutting -Preformed dies are used to cut or punch out the size and shape of corrugated paper desired.
Stitching -This process is used to connect the lap and the end of the sheet of a corrugated container.
Clueing -This process is similar to stitching but resign adhesive is sued instead of metal wire.
The paperboard is then folded or assembled into boxes. After being properly packed, the boxes are ready for shipping.

Plant Description:

The mill roll stand: It feed the paper rolls into the corrugators.
The pre-heater & pre conditioner: For liner and medium paper moisture control.
The single facer: This machine transforms the paper into a series of connected arches called flutes. If the flute profile has to be changed, then the corrugating rolls need to be changed. Starch is applied to the tips of the flutes and glues the outer liner to the fluting to obtain single face.
The bridge: It enables the Single Facers to run at different speeds, especially when reel or order changes take place.
The glue station: The single face is prepared for gluing to the outer liner.
The double backer facer:The single face is combined with the outer liner at this stage. The heating section ensures that the bond is strong by gelling the glue and removing moisture.The rotary shear:This is used to chop out damaged lengths of board or to effect a change over from one grade of board to another.
The slitter / Scorer: This operation slits and scores the board in the machine direction, with the scoring which determines the style of the finished box.
The cutter: It cut the board to the exact required lengths.
